Elizabeth Galton short-listed for UK 'Jewellery Designer of the Year' Award 2007

Elizabeth Galton is pleased to announce that she is joining forces with Cool Diamonds

Cool Diamonds are Europe’s leading 'clicks and mortar' retailer of high quality diamond based jewellery, whose stable stable of high profile designers who include Versace, Jasper Conran and Bruce Oldfield O.B.E. Combined with an award winning state of the art website Cool Diamonds has impressive offices and showrooms in London and Paris. She will produce three collections - Haute Couture, Couture and Diffusion jewellery in her own distinctive style and using diamonds for the first time.

Elizabeth short-listed for IJL’s ‘Bright Young Gems’ 2006

International Jewellery London is a premier exhibition, which successfully brings together key buyers and suppliers of jewellery, gifts and related products. Previous judges of ‘Bright Young Gem’s include Hilary Alexander (The Daily Telegraph), Kate Reardon (Vanity Fair and The Times), Carol Woolton (Vogue) and Stacey Duguid (Elle). 2006 sees the celebration of the 50th edition of IJL.

Designer descends into the Dragons` Den

Elizabeth Galton faced the panel of self-made millionaire venture capitalists on the BBC’s acclaimed investment programme Dragons’ Den and secured £110,000 in return for a 30% stake in her company.

She has since announced a new deal with a team of Jersey based stockbrokers valued at £0.5million.

The Financial Times said:

Young British jewellers are far from short of vision, talent or energy so why do so few of them make it on the world stage? Only a handful of British designers have made it big internationally... But a new crop of young jewellery designers such as Elizabeth Galton are celebrating and capitalizing on British design, selling to Europe, the US and Japan.

What does the future hold for designers such as Elizabeth Galton, a Central St Martins graduate who secured herself a £100,000 investment by pitching her idea to leading UK businesspeople on the BBC’s ‘Dragons’ Den’ TV programme? What will she have to do to become part of a serious UK jewellery export market?

Galton wins GOLD

Elizabeth was awarded a prestigious Gold Award for fashion Jewellery by the Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council which celebrates the finest craftsmen from throughout the UK. The competition highlights the most technically brilliant jewellers and silversmiths.

Galton commented on the competition, "The competition sets the highest standards of design and craftsmanship. It is an accolade that many jewellers and silversmiths strive for." Galton says "It was certainly a central part of my presentation to the BBC Dragons which assured them of the excellence of my work."

Fashion in Motion - Swarovski Runway Rocks

In association with Istituto Marangoni Swarovski, the world's leading manufacturer of cut crystal, was established in Austria in 1895 and has a long tradition of links with the fashion and jewellery industry, collaborating in the 1950s with people like Christian Dior and Coco Chanel to create avant-garde crystal jewellery.

The V&A celebrated Swarovski's collaboration with the world of fashion with a series of stunning catwalk shows, presenting a unique collection of spectacular specially-commissioned jewels for the catwalk. The designers including the couture jeweller, Elizabeth Galton, were asked to merge fashion, body ornament and jewellery, and innovate with crystal to create their ultimate runway jewellery piece.
